Staining a Deck is an easy job if you buy the right material. I prefer oil based stain for decks, as they hold up better. make sure you spread liberly with a rag and go back and wipe up any excess stain, this will make for a deep rich stain and last the longest. dont forget to mask places where you do not want to stain, or have a soapy rag handy to clean asap. good luck
